(The small arrow bracelet is $15, and the “Strong and Courageous” leather wrap bracelet is $20)
Every bracelet tells a story. Every bracelet has a purpose. Every bracelet asks something of you.
What does your bracelet represent?
Every piece of jewelry that we make will include an authentic freshwater pearl. Why a pearl?
Not long after God laid adoption on our hearts in such a profound way, I believe God gave me this verse:
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. Matthew 13:45-46 (NIV)
Yes, I know… Bear with me here because I’m going to take this verse out of context. You see, I made a very strong and direct correlation between our daughter in China and the pearl spoken of in this verse. Pearls have a huge importance in Chinese culture so my mind didn’t have to go far to make this connection. Our Little Pearl has great value! She is loved by God, and He has a plan and a purpose for her life. God has given us the opportunity to sacrifice our money, our time, our love… ourselves… for her. She is worth that and so much more. So here we stand. We’ve found a pearl, even though we have no idea who she is or what she looks like…A beautiful pearl of great value! And we will run recklessly toward her. We will abandon our money, our comfort, our vain covering of security and run headlong into uncertainty. We will fight for her, pray for her, cry for her, rejoice because of her, and one day soon we will hold her and breathe the same air that she breathes, we will feel her heartbeat against our own, and we will wipe away her tears. We’ll bring her into our family and she will be HOME. She will have a daddy, a mommy, three big brothers, and a big sister. We will love her forever. She is a pearl of great value!
Let me not mislead you though. I.get.scared. Yep, that’s right! I have a bunch of questions that invade my mind. Possibilities. Scenarios. Fears. And God gently reminds me (as He has to do so very often)… Do not fear. Let faith replace fear.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
It’s not just about me though. How about our Little Pearl (yep, that’s nickname status)? She is already a fighter. Every day she must push fear aside and move forward. She has pain and loneliness. She has tears and apprehension. Yet, SHE IS BRAVE!!!
And finally, the arrows on the bracelets.
See, children are a gift from the Lord. The children born to us are our special reward. The children of a young man are like arrows in the hand of a soldier. Happy is the man who has many of them. Psalm 127:3-5 NLV
I think that verse speaks for itself– Children are a gift, and a reward. They go out from us and make a difference in the world around them. They bring happiness. They are so worth the cost!
At the very beginning of this post I wrote, “Every bracelet tells a story. Every bracelet has a purpose. Every bracelet asks something of you.” So what does the bracelet ask of you? I ask that as you look at your bracelet that you would consider the meaning that it holds. Please pray for our Little Pearl. Ask God to fill her with courage, strength and love. Then make it personal and ask God to strengthen you and fill you with courage. Look at the arrows and pray for your children or the children in your life.
- Children are a gift from the Lord
- Children are our special reward.
- Children are like arrows in the hand of a soldier
- Happy is the man who has many of them.
Thanks for your interest, your prayers and for supporting us on this crazy road of adoption! We love you!
